County Council Is Considering Taking Over Your Local Fire District!

Most voters say our local fire districts ARE WORKING — and there’s no clear need for change.

Firefighters Battling Fire

IT'S NOT BROKEN

LOCAL FIRE DISTRICTS ARE WORKING

Greenville County’s fire districts are delivering reliable, high-quality service today. There is no evidence of failure or mismanagement

that justifies a county takeover. If it’s not broken, don’t let County Council “fix” it.

LOSS OF CONTROL

CONSOLIDATION TAKES AWAY YOUR VOTE

Fire districts were created so local residents elect local commissioners to oversee neighborhood services. Consolidation would eliminate those elections and shift control to County Council — farther from the communities who pay for and rely on these services.
